Hello there,
You're getting this because you signed up for, or showed up to, my webinar on Albert's List. This newsletter is the follow-through: short, actionable tips to help you put what you learned there into practice.
Building trust on eBay doesn't start with the jewelry box you just inherited; it starts with the most forgettable thing already sitting around your house.
The Find
You don't need anything fancy to start building real experience on eBay. Something simple already sitting around the house, a bag of mismatched LEGO bricks, a stack of clothes you don't wear, or a box of old homegoods, works just as well as a first sale as anything you'd call valuable.
Take LEGO as one example: a bag of loose, mismatched bricks, no set to identify, no condition grading beyond "used, all here," has a real, recurring buyer pool of parents restocking bins, crafters, and builders finishing sets that are missing pieces. eBay's sold listings for used LEGO show it's not a one-off; it's a category that moves consistently. The same logic applies to a stack of jeans or a box of mismatched glassware: none of it needs to be special to teach you the ropes.
The point isn't the payout. It's the rep. Selling something low-stakes teaches you to weigh a box, pick the right shipping option, and write an accurate description, all before you're doing it for something you'd actually be upset to get wrong, like the jewelry box you just inherited, which needs real authentication before it's even safe to list.
The Prompt
I've been using Gemini Notebook to build what I've started calling a knowledge encyclopedia: a running reference of brand research, condition standards, and platform rules I don't want to re-look-up every time I source something new. Upload your notes, articles, and past listings, then ask it questions instead of starting from scratch on every new item.
I'm walking through this setup step by step at a free webinar on August 6: How to Build an eBay Reselling Side Hustle with AI in One Weekend. We'll build a Gemini Notebook knowledge hub together, go through the AI prompts I actually use, and get a real item evaluated and listed live during the session. If you've been meaning to get organized instead of re-researching the same brand for the fifth time, this is that.
One More Thing
USPS pricing has a quirk worth knowing: shipping a 3-lb package has reportedly been cheaper than shipping something lighter, thanks to how the rate tiers are structured, though that's the kind of thing that can change without notice, so don't treat it as gospel. What won't change: USPS has been penalizing sellers who understate package weight on the label. If your item weighs 2.5 lbs, put 2.5 lbs, not 2. The savings from fudging it aren't worth the fee, or the account flag, when it gets caught.
Got a question about any of this, or a listing you're stuck on? Just hit reply, I read every email.
P.S. On August 6, I'm also dropping new content modules on ResellingGuide.ai focused on the Gemini Notebook workflow above, so keep an eye out.
